Decent spot for tasty baked goods, especially the sweet/savory/creamy kinds that 85* is known for. I've been to their other locations at Diamond Jamboree in Irvine, as well as the Westminster location off Brookhurst/Westminster - was aware of this spot in FV, but never stopped by until just a few days ago. Location is in a busy strip mall off of Brookhurst and Ellis. It's on the same side of the street as the Albertson's, Islands, SchoolsFirst FCU, and NavyFed. Plenty of parking since I stopped by a little after 6pm, when a lot of the businesses were closed. It's a smaller footprint than the other two 85* locations I mentioned, there's still space inside for a few tables in case you want to grab something and eat right there. While the selection is great - it's not nearly as plentiful as Irvine or Westminster - AND - unless I misheard her, the employee told me that they get fresh shipments nightly. Fresh shipments? That would mean that unlike the Irvine/Westminster locations, none of the pastries are baked fresh at this location. Very fresh pastries and desserts. I purchased an array of savory and sweet pastries for an office party and they disappeared fast. Many comments that the jalapeño cream cheese bread is amazing. I ordered a Mango Coconut Cup (gluten free) for myself and it was delicious.

I recently visited 85°C Bakery Cafe and picked up two cakes—the ube cake and the black forest—but both were quite disappointing, especially considering the price. The ube cake lacked authentic flavor and tasted artificial, with an overly sweet profile that didn’t feel fresh. The black forest cake was even more underwhelming—the sponge was dry, and the cream didn’t taste fresh, which ruined what should have been a classic favorite. What made it worse was the pricing. For the quality offered, the cakes felt overpriced and not worth it at all. You expect better freshness and flavor when you’re paying a premium, but that just wasn’t the case here. Overall, the cakes looked appealing in the display, but the taste and value didn’t live up to expectations. Definitely not a place I’d return to for cakes.

The 85°C Bakery in Fountain Valley was clean and wasn't crowded when we went (when it was dark). Parking was relatively easy to find but could be difficult due to other establishments. We ordered 4 small cakes. They were like 5-6 USD each so its pretty cheap. I recommend getting the Ferrero rocher cup, its rich in taste! Service was quick as it wasn't crowded. 85°C will always satisfy dessert needs.

I love this 85 Bakery Cafe! I ordered a birthday cake, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They even gave me a free chocolate bread as a treat. It's this kind of heartwarming service that makes you want to support them over the big chains.
